About

Get to know Mihal Freinquel — an employee communications expert and transformation leader in Portland, Oregon.

Welcome! I’m Mihal Freinquel —
you can call me Mo.

fun things to know:

A career highlight was interviewing Annie Leibovitz for ELLE. My favorite food is every culture’s version of soup with noodles in it. A mission-led company draws me in, but I’m won over by a culture of killer smarts + genuine kindness + a true appreciation for everyone’s differences. I make my own sprouts and body lotion. I believe everyone will always bemoan the company intranet no matter how solid it is, but it can definitely always be better. Rainy weather makes me productive, so it’s a good thing I live in Portland, Oregon. AP Style rules me.

MY ETHOS:

Strategic internal communications leads to engaged employees, and engaged employees drive business results.

What i do

My role as an internal communications leader is to inform, connect, inspire, and engage employees. This happens during big, transformational moments, and also day-to-day in the seemingly smaller moments.

I leverage narrative-led communications to guide a company and its employees through change at all scales; ensure "the why" is congruent with the company's beliefs and values; poke holes in the plan and plug them back up; and amplify the systems, frameworks, and experiences that show employees they're in the right place, doing the right work, for the right people. As a result, they’re intrinsically motivated to stay and contribute their best. This impacts the company's bottom line, which creates a virtuous cycle.
